Back to the Water

Instead of wintering in New Zealand, as we did in 2020, our adventure this past off-season was welcoming our second child, Eliza, into the world.   Although we have our hands full with two children under 2 years old; Jessie and Eliza have stolen our hearts and are our world!
I can’t wait for the days when these two will join me on fishing adventures, but until then, it’s time to head back to the water.  All the time spent with them this spring is irreplaceable and I’m keeping my finger crossed that they will stop growing while I’m away on the river through most of the summer
.
The spring has begun with scouting trips to the Big Hole, Clark Fork and Missouri Rivers. These trips give me the opportunity to get back in rowing shape, catch up with friends and get real time info on river and fishing conditions. The past several weeks have been a great balance of family time, dad duty and time on the river. Before I know it, the days will be a blur of launching boats, untangling knots, netting fish and prepping for the next day. I have to enjoy the slower pace while it lasts!
